Photos too large

How do I work out the right size to sending photos bye-mail, as mine keep comming out too big.

When you say size, are you referring to the file size of the image, or the physical size in pixels displayed on the screen?

Your photo handling software should have a facilty to reduce the size by a selected percentage, assuming that the files are literally too large, and that you don't want to crop much off.

What OS are you using? If on XP then right click on the picture and then go to send to. pick Email and then accept the reduce size item on the menu. That will then reduce to file size to a reasonable size for emailing. If you are not on XP then you need a program like Paintshop pro. to reduce the file size .

Or Irfanview -Free from click here

Use the resize/resample option and reduce to either 800 by 600 pixels or 640 by 480 which will be OK to email.
