i have been givn some photos on a disc
do i need a certian program to veiw them as i can't seem to get them on to my computer

Have you tried double clicking the files once the disk is in the machine? You may be able to view them using the web browser. It'll depend on the file type.

no files come up it dosen't even seem to know that there is a disc

From the Tools Menu, choose folder options, then click on the View tab in the dialogue box that pops up. Look down the list to:

Hide file extensions for known file types, and clear the check box if it is checked.

From Windows Explorer, you can now read the full filename and extension. Tell us the file extenstion : jpg pcx wmf bmp or whatever it is, then we can tell you whether you need a special program to open them.

A good free viewer better than IE for pictures is Irfanview from click here
