Can anyone please suggest easy to understand photo editing software, my main interest is in re-touching and enhancing.

picasa - gree from Google - is a very basic retouch programme but worth trying.

I like paint shop pro - very powerful but steep learning curve. Photoshop Elements similarly powerful and steep learning curve

It's up to v4.10 now too, retouching facilities provided by one of the plugins (Paint) which is included in the download (no need to download any additional ones).

Photoshop elements or paint shop though elements has the edge in my opinion and excellent forum support of its own. if you can pickup photoshop 7 on ebay thats the even betterForget picasso or irfan view
