Phoenix POST beep.

When I hit the on button, screen stays blank and system emits a one second beep approx every four seconds or so.

Could this be RAM failure?

Anyone . . .

Thanks for that slayer - link added to favorites list - looks extremely useful.

Unfortunately . . . events have overtaken the problem. This morning I swapped RAM modules around and got rid of beep. Still wouldn't start. Reswapped - beep returned - together with whiff of something burning!!!!
Now it's solid, and one of the motherboard chips has an ominous lump on its top surface.

Ah well . . . pity that. System (Axix from Evesham) is only just over two years old, I've just turned down their offer of an extended warranty - you just can't win 'em all.
