Hi, im looking at upgrading my laptop. Currently i have an Acer Aspire 1605lc which my parents bought me as a birthday pressie a few years ago. Its a Pentium 4, 3.06ghz, 512mb DDR SRAM, 60gb hard drive cd/rw etc... Looking at the DELL website a lot of their machines have a core duo processor, how does this compre to the P4? Any suggestions of an upgrade model... Am looking at spending up to £2000 (absolute maximum) and i do not want to downgrade on any level compared to what i have at the mo.... your thoughts....

The Core2duo is by far the fastest processor around.

There is no comparison between the Core2duo and a P4

The Core2duo is one hell of a fast chip
