PCI Express (often called PCI-e) is faster than PCI which has been a standard for years now PCI-e is about 12months or so old. It is much faster. PCI cards are equivalent to older cards on AGP busses. Go for a PCIe card any time.

pci express is a replacement for pci and AGP
its main use at the moment is to use for graphics cards but in time all slots will be pci express
