Hi folks
Can anyone please tell me if a Sapphire-HD3870 is going to work on a 4 year old PCI bus without a blip (if not without some perfo loss)?
Thanks for stopping by

if you mean pci-express x16 slot it should work ok, you need a 450w or better psu with a six pin connector to fit into the card for the extra power it needs.

Citadel, thanks for help.
The psu I haven't checked, but the card comes with a 4 pin adaptator, so I should get away with it.
My concern is the slot.
The slot is PCI, and not express. The Sapphire-HD3870 works on a PCI-expresss x16 slot, but does it require it? Or is it still going to work on my old PCI slot?

Pci-express will NOT work in a pci slot.

Ok, Tanks guys.

A PCI-E card will not work in an old PCI slot.

Ok then. Can I ask for some advice?
I have a Radeon 9250. I need to upgrade in order to avoid working on a min accelerator setting (or a max crashing record!), and in order to install vista.
Any suggestion that will fit my PCI slots?
