PCI sound card not detected.

I have just plugged in my sound card into my new mother board but when I install the driver it says device not detected. Its a CreativeX-Fi XtremeMusic sound card, I ran the auto update and it says it cant detect the sound card,

I also have a fault with the onboard lan port it sometimes will not power up, so I end up having to remove the cat5 and plug it in a few times before it is detected, I have gone back the the shiop I bought it from and they say they have replaved the motherboard but when I got home it was just the same,

Any body got any ideas?

Can you try another slot. Also check the power requirements it's more important with graphic cards but it might be an issue. If you have to take it back again it may be worth marking the board with a UV security pen then you can make sure it has been exchanged.

sorted just noticed that when I screw the card to the case it is popping out of place.
