HiIts been a while since I built a PC and cant remember the differences between the PCI slots on a motherboard.I have been looking at a board which has:a) 2 x PCI-E x16 slotsb) 2 x PCI x1 slotsc) 2 x PCI slotsI appreciate that the 2 x PCI slots (c) will be used for sound cards etc and that the 2 PCI-E x 16 slots (a) would be used for graphics. My 2 questions are:1. Can you use a normal PCI card in a PCI-E x 16 slot?2. What would you use the 2 PCI x 1 slots for? (They seem very small to me). Thanks
1) No.2)PCI-e slots? they are for the new breed of PCI-e cards.

Here is a pci-e 1x card click here(19839)LaCie-SATA-II-3Gbs-PCIExpress-Card-With-2-Ports.aspx.I think they are expensive and have no real value over a normal PCI card.
Allmany thanks for the help. Just what I was looking for.Regards
