Not quite, but it will enable you to connect to the router using an ethernet cable.

thanks, it's just my pc/aol fails to detect my netgear wireless router modem with an old realtect nic card.
think i may go and buy anew one as it may be a driver issue and i can't find the right drivers for it.

Does your Ethernet port show in Device Manager. Mine is under "Network Adapters" where it's called "Via Compatible Fast Ethernet Adapter", but that of course depends on the chipset. Most motherboards these days have an Ethernet port integrated.
