When you say dropping cable connection do you mean 'ethernet' cable or 'virgin/ntl' cable ?

If you mean ethernet cable then try a new cable and then a new lan card.

If you mean a wireless connection to virgin cable, let us know.

The pc2 connects to internet for about6-7mins using virgin(blueyonder)cable connection when using the web browser it will stop working and I am unable to find any web pages unless I re-boot then the same happens again.(no problems with main pc1)

Uninstall the Sygate firewall

This includes Zone Alarm, Sygate, Kerio, Norton Internet Security, Zero Knowledge Freedom, Cisco VPN Client, F-Secure, McAfee Firewall, Trend Micro, Comodo, PC Tools Firewall Plus etc.

In many cases, disabling the firewall is not enough; you have to actually uninstall it.

Do not install or re-install the firewall until after you have the network functioning properly
