MOTHERBOARD ASUS MODEL A7N8XE-DELUXE

AMD XP3200 PROCESSOR 2.2GHZ

DVD COMBO REWRITER MODEL PIONEER DVR-108

MEMORY KINGSTON HYPER X KHX3200AK2 1GIGABYTE

You could try, go into BIOS and set it to default settings. Save before you exit do this with the drive in that you got with it

Is there supposed to be a Operating System on the Drive when you got it?

Check that all connections are sound and all RAM, PCI cards and so on are correctly seated, if the PC still has the same problem do as follows:

Disconnect everything except CPU, RAM and graphics card, now switch on and see how far it goes through the POST, if it reports no system drive or a drive failure then switch off and connect just the HD to see if it boots any further, if it does just keep adding devices between shut downs until one causes a problem and that should be the faulty device.

Report back on any progress you may have.

"Sorry should have said wont go into bios already tried."

Is the keyboard connected to the correct socket? Is the keyboard known to be working okay? What key(s) are you hitting to access BIOS?

  woodchip 20:13 15 Oct 2008

Remove the hard drive then try starting into BIOS

Have you tried stripping the machine back to the bare essentials as per my first post?

It may also be an idea to reset the BIOS to defaults, use the Clear CMOS jumper on the motherboard, just make sure power is completely off, to make sure switch off at the socket as well.

Checked all connections took out memory and put it back in and reconected hard drive cable and managed to get p.c to boot up into windows and it started to restart it self 4 times and then switched its self off
