Switched on my desktop and monitor is blank and all I can hear is a beep - beep- continuous beep from th case. Any ideas?

Possible psu or motherboard failure but can be the keyboard.

Try unplugging the keyboard and see if the system will boot.

Reseat memory and graphics cards

hi legslip....
it could be a number of things ...most likely would be graphics card not seated ...memory module failure..cpu fan failure .
open the case and look for fans turning when switched on ...if all working ,then switch off and take out the power lead ,earth yourself on the tower case .then check graphics card is properly seated ...with
a lot of use they can become unseated (expansion/contraction),firm push to make sure it is
in all the way .....same with memory make sure they are locked in with the clips....then plug in and test

Continuous beeps point towards motherboard fault/failure or psu failure.

Wierd, Couldn't find anything loose but unplugged all and plugged in again and hey presto! Put the RAM (single stick) into a different slot. All OK now. Thanks again!!
