Hi everyone,
Sunday I do full backup to external USB HDD drive using Acronis.
Today the drive is not seen, it is up and running but will not show in my comp or disc manager or Acronis.
Any suggestions please, I have double checked the cables etc. and tried other USB ports, but still not seen.

I have had a similar problem with acronis, not seeing HDD,you could try uninstalling and reinstalling.
One assumes you have formatted the drive. Is it shown here?
Right click my computer, click on disk management,is it shown here?

Might the order in which you connect the components be relevant? It was in my case - my pc did not see the external HDD until I followed the instructions found on the Maxtor/Seagate web page. They say that to ensure the pc sees the external HDD you should follow a particular sequence, which is basically as follows.

If your pc is not yet turned on, first connect the interface cable between the external drive and computer. Then power up the HDD, and wait ten seconds as the HDD gets up to speed. Finally power on the computer

If your pc is already powered on, first power up the HDD, wait ten seconds. Then connect the interface cable.
