PC wont boot

I am having problems with my pc. It starts to boot up normally and once it gets to the desktop, it switch's off and then starts up again. I have tried starting it in safe mode, but to no avail. It is a Fujitsu Scaleoview T17-2 with Xp. Any help would be much appreciated.

how many accounts have been set-up on the machine.
Can you remember if you installed or fitted anything before things went awol.
Try pressing F8 when starting and select Safe Mode.
Then if you go into the desktop great, have a quick look round for any unusual icons like AV2009 or Vista2008 these are malware infections.
Try restarting with the bare essential connected. Unplug any printers, Scanners, USB modems.

Hi, on booting press the F8 key, you will be presented with an option menu, click on the (last known good configuration) and let it load, if that does not work then your operating system has been damaged and you will more than likely need to reload your operating system.

If you do need to reload your system then you will lose all your personal data.

If nothing works, do a repair install click here, instead of a fresh install.

"If you do need to reload your system then you will lose all your personal data." - that's true, but not if one does a repair install. But it's definitely recommended to backup data first. G
