PC will not start

Hi
This morning pc had crashed so i reset it but would not start
The msg reads Windows could not start because the follewing file is missing or corrupt
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
You can attempt to repair this file by starting windows setup using the original setup CD-ROM.
Select 'r' at the first screento start repair.
Great i under stand all that well sort of, but when i start my pc with the disc in the drive notting happens apart from the same as what had all ready happened hope some 1 can help me thanks.

Your computer may not be set to boot from cdrom as the first option.

Enter the bios, usually by hitting the delete key, as the computer starts and find the boot option. Sewt the cdrom drive to first boot and press the F10 key to save and exit.

Try it now.

When you select 'R' the rest is automatic.

for some reason Technotiger your link describes it different to the way it goes with my disk.
and vog maybe a bit to advanced for me,think i'll just format it.
