PC Will Not See HD

I have two computers both having 120 Gig HDs.irecently upgraded both to Vis ta from XP then I started having problems.

i then low-formatted them with Maxtor-Power DVD
The PCs now will not see them:

What - you mean not detected in the BIOS - or the XP installation routine won't see them?

You need to Partition it and Format it.

If you've got XP you can do this in Disk Management.

So-called "low-level format" is not that at all - but does wipe everything from the drive, including partitioning data. This leaves it as blank as a brand new drive.

Can you see it in Disk Management? It should be there.

You won't see it anywhere else (eg My Computer) if it's not partitioned and formatted.

Have booted up Disk Manement and Yes I can see it:It shows the disk with a RED Sign on it saying
Unknown Not INITIALIZED: How do I proceed?

Laptop Will Not Boot up:
