I have two computers both having 120 Gig HDs.irecently upgraded both to Vis ta from XP then I started having problems.i then low-formatted them with Maxtor-Power DVDThe PCs now will not see them:
What - you mean not detected in the BIOS - or the XP installation routine won't see them?
Can see HD in BIOS but not in Computer Window
You need to Partition it and Format it.If you've got XP you can do this in Disk Management.So-called "low-level format" is not that at all - but does wipe everything from the drive, including partitioning data. This leaves it as blank as a brand new drive.
DieSsehow do i partition something the computer does not see?
Can you see it in Disk Management? It should be there. You won't see it anywhere else (eg My Computer) if it's not partitioned and formatted.
