PC will not power up.

Hello all. I'm new to these forums and was hoping that someone might be able to help.

About a week ago I went to use my computer, plugged it in, flicked the switch on the PSU, and pressed the power button on the front of the case. There followed a momentary flash of life from the fans and various leds within my case and then everything stopped. I waited for a moment and tried it again. The same thing happened.

Prior to this I have noticed unusual behaviour from my pc, such as rebooting itself for no reason.

I have just tested the psu with a power supply tester and after plugging in the 20 pin connector there was no audible sound from the tester and out of the row of lights only the +5VSB led was illuminated.

Is it safe to say that the problem is a failed PSU?

I would greatly appreciate any advice you could give me.

Thanks, Jon.

Your power supply is dead, hopefully nothing on the motherboard was affected. Borrow or buy a new one is the only way to confirm this.
