could any one tell me how to stop the message system 32 from starting up i've looked on msconfig then start up but i can'y see anything that says that thanks

It may help if you provide the exact wording of the message. It may be malware.

it says system 32 and these files are for viewing only and are used to help run the computer

it comes on when i start my computer but goes of when i click the cross button then it only reapeares then next time i put the computer on

it also lists all the files that are onmy computer

I think you should run System File Checker.

Go to `Start>Run` and type `sfc /scannow` without the quotes but including the space between `sfc` and `/`. You will need your XP disk handy as you will need to insert it.

When booting up my PC I end up with an ascending note followed by a "pop" - What is this and how do I get rid of it?
