Just need some advice on my system, as I have come into some money and I already have bought a new part for my pc. I just need some advice on what part would in your view need upgrading next. As you may guess, this computer is for gaming, and I run everything in full on most games. So which part is weakest link ?

AMD FX60 DC
BFG 8800 GTX
2 GIG CORSAIR TWIN XMS PRO 3200
ASUS A8N32 SLI DELUXE

Hope you have got a good power supply.

I would definitely go for an Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 instead (needless to say you'll have to get a different motherboard too). It's not only better than AMD's FX-60 but cheaper(?) too. See the performance differences for yourself click here: FX-60 beaten on every test. Of course, get the E6800 if it's within your budget.

There's also faster memory out - PC6400 running at 800Mhz. G

ok, the answer is no, so here is what im looking to get.

Am2 fx62 (Or intel equiverlant)
Abit Fatality AN9 Board DDR2
Corsair Dominator xms2 6400 /800

How much better would these additions add to my system ? is it worth doing it ?

Thanks

"How much better would these additions add to my system ? is it worth doing it?"

If money's no issue I woud do it. Again I'd prefer an Intel E6700 (with corresponding mobo) over the AMD FX-62/60 - the former's ~£125 cheaper, performs better & runs cooler than the latter.

From the link I provided earlier, even an E6600 at ~£265 cheaper (than the FX-62) performs slightly better in games. G

Btw, I'm using an AMD CPU, so I'm not biased - the Intel Core 2 Duos are just better overall. G

ok, a e6700 is cheaper and faster than an am2 fx62 ?
What intel board shall i get to go with this ?

"a e6700 is cheaper and faster than an am2 fx62 ?"

Yes, look at the link I provided earlier. Prices at eBuyer (may vary slightly at other retailers):

E6700 £352 click here

FX-62 £475 click here

(E6600 £210 click here)

I'd suggest a good quality Asus/DFI/MSI/Abit/Gigabyte/Intel/etc Socket 775 (P965/975x chipset) Core 2 Duo SLI board with DDRII support. Read independent reviews if you need to. G
