PC SHUTDOWN PROBLEM

HI, I HAVE JUST BOUGHT P4 QUAD CORE 2 CPU AND COMPACTIBLE BOARD AND NOT TO FORGET THE 4 GIG RAM THAT I ALSO HAVE PURSHED,
I ALL I HAVE CONNECTED IS POWER SUPPLY TO THE BOARD CPU ON THE BOARD ALL FANS ARE WORKING FINE, AFTER CONNECTING POWER LED CONNECTORS,
MY PC IS READY AND ROLLING WELL NOT MINE
IT STAYS ON FOR ABOUT 12-15 SECONDS AND IT OFF.
COMPLETE DEAD LIKE SOMEBODY DISCONNECTED THE POWER CABLE, THE IDEA WAS TO INSTALL 6 VIRTUAL MACHINE INSIDE AND FINISH MY MCSA/MCSE THE SOONER THE BETTER COS I HAVE A DEADLINE WHICH IS 4 WEEKS FROM NOW.

SO IF SOMEBODY CAN BE GENERIOUSE ENOUGH WID THEIR TIME THAT WOULD HIGLY APPRECIATE AND HIGHLY WANTED, SO PLEASE TECHNICIANS AND COMPUTER GEEKS HELP.COM

could be that the heat sink is not properly seated on the cpu and it is shutting down to save burning out

Did you put heat sink compound on the cpu prior to fitting the cpu heatsink and fan?
