PC rebuild - ISP problem

  the hick 15:44 31 Jan 2007

My PC just been rebuilt, re-installed OS and all progs. and documents, but how do I re-install the Freeserve, now Orange, dial-up ISP I was using? I still have the disc, from Dec. 2003, and password, etc., although I think the dialling phone no. changed as well. Any advice much appreciated.

You'll need to create dial-up connection.

Go to Start, Programs, Settings, Network Connections and select the New Connection Wizard and follow the prompts. You should check the phone no. and other details on the ISP's web site.

After you've created the dial-up connection, you may need to edit it to get all the settings correct. In which case go to Start, Programs, Settings, Network Connections and select the DUN that you've created.

You may also need to create your email account(s) manually in Outlook Express (or whatever you are using).

The telephone numbers will be on the Orange web site

BTW, I have 08440587000 for Freeserve.

The hick- you may be able to use the restore internet account option on Orange home page. It's on the right hand side a link under YOUR ACCOUNT. Click and follow directions.
