My pc has been fine but suddenly every time i put a blank cd or dvd into the drive the computer re-boots itself!

if the disk already has info on it that's fine!

i then get an error that windows has recvovered from a serious error!

any ideas?

If you use XP.

Right click my computer and pick properties. This will bring up system properties. Chose the advanced tab and the startup and recovery option. Click on settings and un-tick the auto restart option on system failure.

Now try a blank disk. If the computer throws a wobbly, it should give you an error code.
