I have 1gb ram (2x512mb)pc3200 400hz in my pc at the moment,i want to double it , can i stick a 1gb stick of the same pc3200 400hz of a different make or will i have to buy 2gb of the same make ? the mobo has only three slots so i can have 2x 512 + 1gb or 2 x 1gb or if i'm feeling i want to splash the cash 3 x 1gb lol.

You can use a different make and I would suggest doing a scan from crucial....click here

First thing first, you need to know what configurations your mobo supports E.G mine supports "Up to 3Gb Ram, but not at PC3200 400 only at PC2700.

I suggest you go to click here and use there calculator and it will inform you what to buy and their memory is guaranteed compatible.
