PC problem/ boot RAM? PSU problem?

I recently bought a PC and installed 8gb of RAM, SSD and a new graphics card. It has worked flawlessly for 3 weeks but today problems occurred..

The pc either turns on for 2 sec and shuts down repeatedly (until you have to manually shut it down) Or it boots up but then the mouse or keyboard doesn't work.

What can be the cause of this? Is it a RAM issue? Because when the ram is removed the pc boots but is all black. Or might it be the motherboard? Power supply problem?

The keyboard and mouse turns on but nothing happens.

Help? :/

Some things to do:

disconnect all power leads and press and hold the power button for 30 seconds - retry a boot.

REmove and refit graphics card - retry to boot.

try with one stick of RAM at once

try with HDD / opical drives disconnected

Ok, but the pc can boot but then the mouse or keyboard won't work. This shouldn't be a graphic card problem should it? or hdd? This wouldn't make it start and shut down repeatably either? or am i wrong here..

How the ram is put doesn't change anything, even with one.

Untick your answer or no one will look at the thread thinking its cured.

Its surprising what a bad connection can do cards work loose due to thermal cycling. You have now eliminated a RAM problem.

If it stays on with HDD and optical drives off then there is a possibility that the PSU is struggling to produce enough power.

Try disconnecting and reconnecting all the motherboard connectors.

If it boots every time but SUB ports for mouse and keyboard not working then USB drivers or possibly PSU again or a motherboard fault.
