if there was a popping noise it will be a fuse...although it is more than likely the psu blowing...id suggest testing the psu..

how would i test the psu if i have no power on my pc

Please tick one of your threads as resolved and continue on the other one as you'll just confuse everybody. I suggest you tick the other one as resolved and stick to this one as it seems to have more replies.

I don't suppose you have access to another PC do you? If you do, you could check it by connecting the power supply up to it.
