PC playing back deleted files?

This is a really strange problem, so hopefully someone will be able to answer it.I have ripped some home camera footage to my pc ready to be edited.I've got about 6GB of data, which is in normal Video TS folders. When i try to playback the VOB files, my player is playing other footage that i deleted from my computer over a week ago!I'm getting a few seconds of the new freshly ripped footage, and then all of this old material that i deleted.Firstly, i can't see how this could be possible if i deleted all of this stuff from my computer.Could this be a sign of possible harddrive damage?I've tried to delete the new footage and try again, but the same thing is happening.Would a complete format sort this problem out?Any ideas, please help.Thankyou.

Suspect that the old footage is contained in a temporary file / folder for your player, you need to find and delete this folder.

You haven't stated what program you are using to view the files.

I'm using VLC player, but this problem happens on Real player also.
