A little while ago QVC were selling a Dell computer. When a viewer asked about transferring all of the data, applications from their old computer to the new one they were told that the Dell computer came with PC Move and a USB cable. Using this software and cable they would be able to transfer all the data on the harddrive to the new harddrive.

I wondered if anyone had used this method.

I currently have a 800mhz, 384 RAM, 30Gb HDD running Windows 98SE. Computer is almost six years old and its only the thought of transferring my data (in particular five years research on Family Tree Maker) which puts me off buying a new computer.

It can be done with the right software, I have a old program that does it with a Win98 or 95 setup. It lets you move programs
