pc keeps switching off and restarting all by it's self, sometimes it boots up to windows and then goes into a reboot, can be up to 6 or 8 times before it finaly boots up all together.
AMD 1700+,256 ddr ram,DVD player,CD-RW,Win XP,soundblaster, western dig 40gb HDD but only 300watt power supply ?? could this be the problem.
thanks as usual cos I know you will help..

More likely psu (power supply).
Ensure cables are plugged in properly.
if u got xp - look at system event log - (event viewer) sometimes gives explanation.

Check power cables - try plugging PC into a diff socket - hopefully socket is not faulty?

As sunnysingh says, check your connections. But if you have speakers that go into the power socket on you comp and the power lead goes into the back of that, make sure you have a good connection and make sure the cable isn't catching anything. I speak from frutrated experience:-s
