PC keeps crashing, argh!

Hi there,

Every time I try to either copy something to CD, or DVD, our PC crashes, and continues to do so until the disc is removed.

I've been trying to copy some CDs, to no avail, and also been trying to use Nero to create a DVD, again with no success.

When the PC is able to fully restart (without the disc inside), it tells me the PC has recovered from a serious error, and when I report that, it gives me a page telling me that there is a Pinnacle product on my system that is nolonger supported, and to look here: click here

But I'm not using Pinnacle to create these CDs or DVDs, only Nero or WMP10.

Can anyone help me with a solution to this?

Many TIA!

Hi, run CCleaner click here this will probably clear it. Just run it without making any changes to its opening setup.

do you have pinnacle on board?

Among other things. This may be part, or even the cause, of the problem.

Have you done any upgrades, made any changes or added any new Software lately?

If you're not using Pinnacle I would get rid. Look in Programs, Add/Remove, Search for it. If competent, Search the Registry for it.

Thanks for all the replies!

We do have Pinnacle on board, it's the 'Instant CD/DVD Creator', and not something we ever use anymore, so I will get rid, and see if this solves the issue, then I'll come back.

Thanks again :0)
