PC Freezing

Well my the first time it froze was after i reinstalled World of warcraft, so i don't know if anything went wrong while doing that.

Basically when it freezes everything stops (i cant move mouse and there is no sound). The only way i can get rid of it is to reboot my PC from the power button.

This started yesterday and it only froze while world of warcraft was open (though it was open a lot so may just be a coincidence). Today while i have not been playing it has still been freezing without the game open.

The freezes can occur from 10 minutes after startup to several hours after startup.

So far ive tried:

- Updating graphics card drivers
- Cleaning dust outside and inside computer case

Anyone know what may be causing this?

Thanks

FReeezing PC

1. Overheat due to faulty / blocked fans

2. PSU voltages

3. Household power surges fridge etc switching on/off

4. faulty memory stick try memtest click here

5. virus or spyware scan for both especially if shutting down with in a few minutes of switch on or internet use

6. driver conflicts especially grahics cards get the latest drivers for your equipment

I would say the game as altered your Graphics display settings, Go into Display settings and turn down acceleration with the slider

Ok ive turned the acceleration down to the second notch on the bar. (was originally at the highest)

Think this could solve it?

it was a faulty psu when it happened to me. it would freeze even while just surfing and I did not no it had happened till I tried to use the mouse.

possible, you need to try it

There may be more settings in the Graphics Adapter settings. Is it Ati look for red icon in system tray

The Game should also have graphics display settings. these may have been loaded to full when you loaded the game. look for Display options in the game
