My pentium 3 computer has started crashing and the cpu temperature is 60-62c. Any ideas? The fan is working!

Have you added any new hardware?

No only the speedfan software download

Thanks andy for replying. The fan speed is set at 100% which is 5200rpm.

Try booting into the bios and looking in System Health (or similar) and see what the temp of the procesor is there.

I did try on several ocasions last night to have a look at the bios. When the first screen comes up it says press esc for cmos or f2 for post. Which one do i push for cmos or post?

I am open to correction but 60/62 isn't excessively hot. I would suspect that your problem lies elsewhere. Try removing Speedfan, how does the system crash ? i.e. does it give an error msg. or freeze.

could be power unit over heating. look at the back if the fan is clogged with dust switch off and use vac.

I will give that a go!
