PC Confidential 2008 - Is It Worth It?

  NSBT 18:08 11 Nov 2007

I have McAfee Security Suite, I've received an email from McAfee with an offer, just wondering whether it's worth me taking the offer up.

The offer is PC Confidential 2008 @ special purchase price £14:99, (usually £19.99)

Not long ago although cleared now, I had a trojan since then I'm pretty paranoid, I doubt the above software will stop Trojans, but is the software worth having.

I do have numerous anti malware / spyware programmes installed.

Any advice will be most welcome

You will have more than enough spyware programmes. Trojans can infect a computer and bypass any firewall or anti-spy programme. They are fairly easy to get rid of and a little common sense will prevent them appearing such as not downloading 'free' screensavers or 'free' extra toolbars. Many so-called 'security' companies rely on people's paranoia.

Security Suite already has a shredding facility under the tools option.

Anyone know if this shredder does anything better than what has already been paid for?

Certainly would do nothing about virus's, malware etc.
