PC closes down with standby prompt

Hi,
PC acts normally by going to screensaver after a period then after another few minutes the desktop reappears with the message "Preparing to stand by" and the machine goes off. The green button at the side of the on/off button flashes green.
When I press the on button It tells me I am logged on and to click my user name.
I have checked in power options and the hibernate box is unchecked.
I have IBM Think Station and work in XP Pro.
I don`t want this to happen just to stay with screensaver.
Thanks
Rodz

Go to `Control Panel/Power Options Properties`. Under `Power Schemes` select `System Standby` to `Never` in the drop down panel. Click `Apply` and `OK`. You may well need to do a Restart for this change to be applied.
