PC Clock Keeps Resetting

The system tray clock on a pals pc fails to hold the correct date & time. It keeps resetting and going back about five years causing misc problems. I have changed the CMOS battery three times to no avail. It has an Intel I5 processor so may be worth sticking with and trying to resolve. I can only think the prob lies with the Mboard so am thinking of taking a chance and replacing. Any other thoughts before I do?

Check the position of the CMOS jumper. Does it lose any other CMOS settings?

And is it connected corrected polarity wise

Thanks Jock1e. Yes, the Bios clock resets as well. Also thanks others. Will check the jumper on Monday. If that is OK, do you agree that it is prob. a Mboard issue?
