pc-cillin/pop3 scan

on start up on windows xp my pc takes a lot of time for everything to load onto my desk top,but if i press ctrl,alt and del for my task master and turn of the pop3 scan it goes quicker,is thier anyway of turning the pop3 scan off altogether,please help if you can

If you are using the realtime scan, right click on the icon in the taskbar (next to the clock) and untick POP3 Scan.

That should set it for when it loads up next time.

When you say "a lot of time" I don't know how quick or slow you mean really but for your info my boot-up time with Win ME & PC-cillin/pop3 scan is about 45 seconds. That seems OK to me. I don't think you can blame PC-cillin unless of course you think that is slow.
