Sometimes when i start my computer i get the following message CMOS/GPNV checksum bad and i have to enter the bios and apply all new settings why is this happening

Yup - I agree - it's normally a sign of a bad battery - or possibly even a faulty motherboard.

Pc chips. Umm,. had too many of them fail on me.
