PC and cd drive

  wobbly76 09:54 16 Sep 2005

I've just been looking round for a base unit, when I enquired at a local reseller about a cd-rw drive I was told they were not being made and it would have to be dvd drive, now, I don't know too much about it but unless it was a combi drive I would not be able to use my cd's, what I mean is if it is a dvd-rw that would be no good only for dvd's.

I hope someone can unscramble what I am trying to say.

Cheers, w76

Dvd drives can also read all types of Cd's. You will have no problem.

ventanas, thanks very much for that, so now there's another problem, what options do I have for writing cd's, I think external drives are a bit expensive perhaps.

wobbly76, fairly cheap and very easy to fit. From Ebuyer the only problem is the postage cost. CD drives are heavy so there will be about £5.50 postage to add. Also the the prices on the list I linked to are ex vat, you have to click on the item name to get the prices with vat.
