Have been getting an error message saying to back up my data and replace my hard drive for the past few weeks.

It then would give me an option to hit the F1 key to continue and this would always work.

However this morning i got the error message, hit F1 and then it did a check disk....but then half way through the check it would freeze.

If i boot into SAFE MODE....it freezes when loading SAFE MODE.

If i use LAST KNOWN CONFIG....it does a cehck disk then freezes.

Now when i try and boot up...the monitor styas blank...the pc is getting power though as the cd rom is working ok

Im running XP PRO.

Is ther anyway i can boot up so that i can runa check on the pc?

Thanks.

Why on earth did you take no notice? I would say your HD is well and truly kaput.

It might have been better if you had explained that in the first place.
