PC beeps repeatedly and will not boot

  brianjeff 22:10 19 Jun 2003

I have a 5 year old PC. I had to change the PSU. It now does a memory check then beeps repeatedly and keyboard lights flash. I have replaced the battery.
Strangely if I go into the BIOS and then escape without changing anything it boots up quite happily.

Any ideas

try changing your keyboard this happens when a key is stuck, sometimes its as simple as that:)

If the beeps are in a recognisable pattern, it may be trying to tell you something.

If you are a squirrel you will have kept the Handbook and be able to look-up what the pattern of beeps means. if not try the web site.
