PAYG on O2 with no web access

  Graham. 00:21 03 Aug 2010

I have a PAYG mobile on O2 network. I sometimes inadverantly click on to web browsing. I escape from it as soon as I realise, but I still get charged for it.

I can't get any sense out of O2 or their forum, is their a tariff with no browsing?

... O2 can restrict web access see click here

Depends what phone you've got, but with mine you can switch off 3G access.

You could also subscribe to a speech and text only tarrif, as I have, instead of a 3G one. I can still get web/email access via Wi-Fi hotspots, without any phone charges.

I know not a lot about 02 network.
But I know my grandkids can connect to it at home through their computer wireless connection.
This is as far as I know free to use.
I may be wrong but I am sure someone can comment on it.

Thanks, I've set Parental Control via 61818.

done that too on my o2 PAYG phone a few times.

the worst thing recently is junk mail text as so as you open it downloads images or clips from the net.
