Hi

I have created a folder within "My Documents" is there any way I can put a password on the folder?

I'm running XP, with openoffice.org.

Thanks in advance

Not with windows though you can make it a hidden folder, rt click the folder > properties and then tick the hidden box then click apply. The only other way is with a 3rd party program such as pgp or some other encryption program like bestcrypt or truecrypt.
PGP is anexcelent program but does cost a bit. have a look at click here you may be able to find anencryption program for free there.

Hi Jak_1

Thanks for the help, those links are fee payable, which is something that I don't really need, it's only one folder, you quoted " Not with windows though you can make it a hidden folder, rt click the folder > properties and then tick the hidden box then click applyā€¯

Those instructions will do me fine, problem is, once I click hidden, how do I relocate the folder?

Thanks in advance

You can use 7 Zip to "Zip" the folder and there is an option to password protect

To answer your question Tools/Folder Options/View Tab/Tick show hidden folders.
Remember anyone can do the same!
