Pass files between computers

  nomis5 20:00 01 Jun 2009

I have just bought a laptop and want to transfer data to it from my desktop. Both computers have Vista Home Premium installed. Can anyone tell me how to go about this.
Many thanks

Files and Settings Transfer Wizard click here this page is for XP but Vista is identical. Not only will it transfer your Documents but it will also transfer you Favourites, Dial-up settings etc.

On Vista you should be able to find it at All Programs, Accessories, system Tools where it is called Windows Easy Transfer.

If you have a router and can connect both machines you can pass and print anything from the laptop to the PC

I would as peter99co suggests set up a network using a router, that way you can transfer files when you wish and also access the internet from both computers independently, if your laptop has a wireless card then a wireless router would be the way to go.
