What should be the size of the C:\ drive (OS System)? I have a 60GB HD with currently just one partition?
Thanks David

What do you mean "the size of the c:\ drive"??? It can be ANY size you want!!! So, in theory, it could be 1.2 gb but then there would be enough room for WinXP for it!!!

A 60gb hard-disk is displayed as around 55gb!!!

It is not quite as simple as leaving just sufficient room for the O/S.

There is the pagefile to consider and also whether you intend installing applications.

If you just want the O/S and pagefile on C then I would say 10GB is a good figure out of a 60GB drive.

Thanks for your replies. I wanted a rough figure for the C:\ drive - is 10GB OK to cover MS Office and say five other applications. The rest will be the D:\ for data and page file. Does this seem OK? Thanks David

Yes... I have loads of rubbish installed on my system, but I can't seem to use up more than 7.5gbs!!!
