I am going to be downloading mini dv footage from camcorder (using Pinnacle studio 9) to create dvd's and wondered if partioning a section of my HD for temp storage would be recommended.
Have tried before using movie maker but my system only allows saving 4gb (about 20 minutes) at a time as it is FAT32.
A couple of questions.
Firstly should I partion a section.
If so should I change from FAT32 for that section (if this is possible - would this allow me to save more than 4gb at a time)
Can this also be changed back at any time.

Current Capacity - 73gb, free space 63gb, FAT32

Why not simply "Convert" your FAT32 format to NTFS?

Open Help and Support and type Convet in the search box- you'll see simple instructions that will allow you to convert to NTFS without losing any data,

The conversion process is one way, there's no going back to FAT32.

NTFS will allow you to write files very much larger than 4GB.
