Panasonic DVD RAM Discs

  redbarron 12:18 11 Nov 2010

I have a Panasonic DVD Recorder that takes DVD RAM Discs.

My question is, will I be able to burn downloaded movies etc onto the RAM disc via my PC DVD Rewriter?

My PC Rewriter model is a Philips Lightscribe SPD6000FD/00

Thanks for any help.

This pdf file from Philips' website click here suggests that your PC's drive *doesn't* support DVD-RAM disks.

Why use Ram discs anyway dearer and more delicate than rw's

Thanks for the info and advice. I've decide to go with DVD+RW discs.

You would be better with RW- R more compatible with most players

RAM discs act more like HD's in terms of adding and deleting files etc.The disc you mention is not rewitable - fine for some things. I am not sure but I believe also if you record a TV programme on a DVD recorder on a RAM dicc, and your PC DVD Drive also is compatible (as mine is) that you can download and edit such things more easily.

John he wants to put movies on not add and delete files I would think. RW's
can be erased and reused my experience with ram discs and panasonic recorder is they were awaste of space and gavve more trouble than they were worth. By the way it is also possible to burn a video as standard dvd and add to it with ordinary dvd's at least you can with magix
