Can anyone please help! I formated the hard drive and can`t get the CDROM to work unless i use a W98 startup disk in the Floppy drive, then when i restart its not there..I have dos 6.22 floppy disks and W95 on CD..Any help in this matter would be very much appreciated

Only half an answer but if it encourages someone else to take it up this is what I think.

Having rebuilt your 95 O/S you don't have the generic CD drivers installed for your system.
Windows 98 does have them as part of that system.

So presumably does the Win98 startup floppy.

........continued !

Just how to put the atapi.sys and a file like MSCDX? into the 95 auto.exec and config.sys files is for someone else to say.

Back in Win 3.0 days the CD would come with a floppy to install.

You have a borrowed startup floppy? Its a pity you don't have the Installation CD for Win 98 SE, because then these troubles wouldn't be there!
