PaintShop8 tool bar missing

  jack 14:25 13 Dec 2004

When I turn on PSP8 the stander tool bar is missing.
The way to regain it to to go to view/options and reset.
The software folk simply say to remdy this is to
delete and reinstall .
Thats OK on pain.
But why does it keep on happening?
Is it perhaps that upgrading from Win95/8 to NTFS system is not always as good as it could be?
Or is there another underlaying casue?

Disappearing toolbars was always a problem with earlier versions of PSP, but this is the first I've heard of it since version 4. The cure then I recall was to delete all registry entries relating to toolbars, and restart the program.

This is nothing to do with ntfs. I run PSP 8 and 9 on two ntfs machines without problem. There must be some other underlying problem, as you suggest.

Try file/preferences/reset workspace, then customise the workspace to your own preferences and then go to file/workspace and save, you should then be able to open PSP with your own settings...alB
