I get a message on start up about a paging file problem.

How do I find it and adjust it?

Start, Right-Click My Computer, Properties, Advanced, Under Performance, Settings, Advanced, Under Virtual memory, Settings, click Custom size, write numbers in MBs (Best is 2048MB)and then 3 times OK

P.S You must be logged on as an Adminstrator

[Start] right click [My Computer] click [Properties]
Click [Advanced] tab then click [Settings] in the [Performance] section
Click the [Advanced] tab and then click [Change] under the [Virtual Memory] section

Sounds like you need to Add some Ram. Its using Virtual Ram i.e Disc Space and you may be low on free space on your drive

The best setting for the majority of users is the one to let Windows manage the paging file.

However - page file messages at start up might be for varying reasons - what was the message? - it matters.

I have adjusted the paging file several times, and still get the same message. Both let windows manage it, and adjust it myself.

I have 1 gb ram, that's plenty?

Emily, your link goes to a novell site.

By the way, what's the ending for outlook files, in case I need to back up.

"...and still get the same message."

What message - there can be several different messages about the page file - what are you getting, you still haven't said.

'paging file is too small or there isn't one'
