Overheating and crashing?

HI all,
My son has a Medion PC MT6 that keeps crashing. I think it is overheating as the tower is really hot to the touch. Do you think it is the PSU that needs changing? If not what? Thanks for any help in advance Dax.

take side of case see if cpu fan is spinning and clean all fanes for that matter

Open the case and check if the fans are running

Good idea!. The Cpu fan is running albeit noisily. But I don't think the PSU fan is working. Would you feel it at the back of the fan?

Yes, via the back of the case.

some times if you get at the right angle stair in side press power you will see it start to spin

Right I got a look and they are both spinning.

How will I know which PSU to buy and where should I get it from? I'm presuming it's the PSU as even though the fan is spinning I cannot feel any cold air coming out.

Ive got an old PSU from another comp. It's a Maxima 300w ATX switch power supply. Would this be ok to replace the other with?
